Warsaw Model United Nations
posted by admin on 10/13/06

12 IB students participated in Warsaw Model United Nations organised by Batory High School. Rousing speeches were made by our students in the Royal Castle at the opening of the session of the Warsaw MUN on Wednesday morning. Representing Italy, South Africa, United Kingdom and Bulgaria, the leaders of the four delegations spoke about their hopes for a conference focusing on the issue of terrorism. In committees on Thursday and Friday, the young delegates worked with representatives of 50 countries to compose resolutions relating to nuclear disarmament and the preservation of civil liberties while fighting terrorism. At the closing General Assembly held on Friday afternoon, Robert Skoczylas was chosen as best delegate in his committee and the resolution, drafted almost totally by Lorenzo Izgro was adopted by the assembly. Many thanks to all delegates for representing the school so well.
