Nigel Archdale: Principal

 

Nigel Archdale joined The British School in August  2008 from his Headship of Cheltenham College Junior School  and brings 20 years experience of school leadership to his new post as Principal. Nigel's first degree came from the Univesity of Bristol and his Masters from the University of Edinburgh. Nigel and Charlotte already feel very much at home in their newly adopted  city of Warsaw and are greatly enjoying being part of The British School community at such an exciting stage in its development. Nigel and Charlotte have three grown up children, working and studying in the UK.

Jacek Łatkowski: Deputy Principal and IB Coordinator.

 

 

Jacek Latkowski (Łatkowski in Polish) is a teacher with 24 years of experience at university, college and secondary school levels, including 13 years with the IB programme. He has various academic degrees including a Ph.D. in theoretical physics (he continues his scientific research when the time allows). Dr. Latkowski was born in Poland, educated in Poland and Canada and he has worked in various international schools, for the past 8 years at Bonn International School in Germany. In addition to maintaining high academic standards, he also enjoys participation in extra-curricular life of the school.

Jeremy Buss: Director of Teaching and Learning

Mr Buss, Director of Teaching and Learning, is also Head of French. He is a graduate of Southampton University in "Modern languages and European Studies" majoring in French and German. Mr Buss joined the school in September 1994.

Chris Hutchinson: Head of Primary


Mr Hutchinson, Head of Primary School, has a B.A  in Geography and completed his Certificate of Education in PE ( subsid. geography) from Oxford University. His teaching background is in UK preparatory schools. He moved to Warsaw in 2001. This is Mr Hutchinson's 8th year at The British School and has been teaching for over 30 years.

Jeanne Kotze: Head of Dabrowskiego

Miss Kotze is from South Africa. She studied at the University of Johannesburg and Pretoria for four years. She furthered her studies at the University of London for her British teaching qualification. Ms Kotze taught in South Africa for four years and London for four and a half years . Ms Kotze has been teaching here at The British School for eight years.

Georgina Dobson: Key Stage 2 Co-ordinator


 

This is Georgina Dobson's third year at TBS and this year she has the responsibility of Key Stage 2 Coordinator. Georgina is from New Zealand and gained a B. Education and Diploma Teaching from Waikato University in New Zealand. She has 11 years of EAL and mainstream teaching experience in New Zealand, the UK and internationally. Georgina is a huge rugby fan and also enjoys travel and movies.

Izabela Słoczynska: Key Stage 4 Co-ordinator

Izabella Sloczynska Studied Biology/Psychology and a PGCE at the University of London Institute of Education. She has taught Key Stage 3 and 4 Science and A level Biology for many years in the UK,  Poland and Taiwan. Mrs. Sloczynska has taught at the British School in Warsaw for 9 years. During this time she has experienced Key Stage 2 as a year 6 teacher and Science co-ordinator. At present she teaches science in Key Stage 3 and 4 and Biology at IB level. Mrs Sloczynska is also the Key Stage 4 Co-ordinator.

 

 

 

Angharad Waters: Head of Learning Support

 

Angharad Waters studied for a Bachelor of Music and Masters in Music at the University of Wales, Bangor, specialising in Early Music and performance. Ms Waters' teaching certificate was gained in secondary music and researched the role of music with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Having spent time lecturing at university she then specialized in the field of Special Educational Needs working as a music therapist and support teacher for LEA's and in Special Schools. Ms Waters is the Head of Learning Support and will be starting her forth year at TBS, and hopes to finally pursue her dream of completing a doctorate in Educational Psychology.
